Clinical Documentation Specialists

Position Summary
Must be able to respond and interact with physicians and hospital staff in a courteous and collaborative manner. The Reviewer will perform concurrent chart review for complete and accurate documentation providing education for physicians and hospital staff as needed. The Reviewer will also be responsible for assisting to verify the appropriateness of admission status, follow-up appeal of admission denials, and retrospective reviews for all payors.
Work Schedule
Flexible schedules to cover all shifts and weekends, as hospital needs demand.
Qualifications/Specifications
· Education: Graduation from a program of nursing, BSN preferred.
· Licensure/Certification: Current state Registered Nurse license or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute or intensive care setting. Basic knowledge of DRG system, ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred.
